Earlier this month I connected with master weaver, Cara DeHeart of Seaweaver and knitwear designer, Charlotte Hess of Isobel & Cleo in hopes of putting together a personal project. I can't thank them enough for trusting my vision, especially when the temperature dropped. When life fills up, it can often be difficult to make time for personal work. Feeling thankful that we were able to make it happen.
Has it really been since last November that I blogged? Life has been full. I've been busy shooting and getting to know our little Olive. Born on a Sunday afternoon in January, she has made our hearts glow ever since. The above photo was taken by my husband, Michael, while we explored Land's End. More photos to come.
A little over a month ago, Mike and I took off for the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. As I pour through the images, I can't help but smile. It was one of the most relaxing trips we have ever taken. Waking up in a treehouse, enveloped in moss and bird calls, set the tone for the rest of the day. One of our favorite pit stops was North Bend, where parts of Twin Peaks was filmed. Oysters, beer, and latte's happened everyday. When can we go back?
In the months leading up to wedding season, I try my best to sneak into the darkroom. This photo is a small part of a continuing personal project, Portrait of Glen Park. By the end of March, I plan to have a body of work that shows what this beautiful and hard working community is all about. This was shot at one of my favorite spots, Destination Baking Company. I can't wait to pop back in again for my favorite, the ham and cheese croissant.

A few weeks back, I shot Micaela Greg's 2012 Fall line. The "stop-you-in-your-tracks" hair and make-up was done by Paul Laxton. Pouring over the images, I can't help but smile. More to come in the weeks to follow.

While shooting a wedding in Bali, I was able to explore a bit. The above images are just a few moments I thought I'd share. Balinese people could not be more gracious, kind, and beautiful. I'll be sure to return someday.
Happy Birthday Laela Ray. The day I met you, I had my Hasselblad. Fresh out of the bath, you snuggled right up to your Mama. I felt so lucky to be there. It's hard to believe 4 years have passed since this photo was taken. May you have many more sweet moments next to the ones you love.

Many years ago, I was sitting in Noel Barnhurst's class, wondering who the next model was going to be for my assignment. Having exhausted all friends, my eyes started to wonder across the classroom. With her striking features and quiet demeanor, the girl sitting next to me exceeded my expections. I could not have asked for a better model. The two images above eventually got published in CMYK Magazine.
This past November, I was honored to shoot her wedding in Yosemite National Park. Can't wait to share!

Patrick has been a friend of mine for years and I was lucky enough to have him as my assistant this past weekend in Mendocino. We met years ago in art school and have continued to inspire each other. On top of being an amazing photographer, he helps run Pacheco Ranch Winery. If you ever get the chance, try their 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon... it's my fav!
It was great to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather we've been having. We ended the hike with a nap on the beach. On the way back, we stopped for soft serve. Hoping your weekend was filled with unexpected pleasures too.
